Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- The Telangana government on Wednesday announced enhancement of the monthly stipends of House Surgeons and Post Graduate (PG) students pursuing AYUSH courses, bringing them on par with their counterparts in Allopathic medical institutions.

According to an order issued by the Health, Medical and Family Welfare (E2) Department , the enhanced stipends will benefit 798 students, including 405 House Surgeons and 393 PG students in AYUSH institutions.

The monthly stipend for House Surgeons in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani and Naturopathy has been increased from Rs 13,754 to Rs 29,792.
