Hyderabad, May 13 -- Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C V Anand on Wednesday said strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb peace and communal harmony during the forthcoming Bakrid festival in Telangana.
The DGP, along with senior officials from various departments, held a video conference with Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police across the state to review security and law-and-order arrangements ahead of the festival.
He directed police officials to strictly prevent illegal transportation and smuggling of cattle and enforce provisions under the Cow Slaughter Act, Transport of Animals Rules and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
