New Delhi/Hyderabad, April 17 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy have urged union Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi to procure 30 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of boiled rice from the State for the ongoing Yasangi season.

During a meeting held in Delhi on Friday, the State leaders informed the union Minister that Telangana is expected to produce around 90 LMT of paddy this season and that the crop is largely suitable for boiled rice.
