Hyderabad, March 28 -- Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said food security alone was not sufficient and emphasised that providing nutritious food to children is a top priority of the Telangana government.

Launching the "Toli Mudda" breakfast scheme for the Anganwadi Children at Assembly Conference here, the Chief Minister said lack of nutritious food is a major cause of health ailments among children and remains a serious concern.

He stressed that mental development in children below six years was crucial and said the scheme aims to improve their health from an early age.

He noted that nutritious food was already being provided to pregnant women through Anganwadi centres from the time of conception.
