Hyderabad, May 27 -- : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday alerted officials and the public to remain vigilant in view of the Orange Alert issued by the Meteorological Department for several districts in the State.

The Chief Minister directed officials to speed up paddy procurement operations at all procurement centres and ensure additional precautionary arrangements to protect stored paddy from rain damage.

He instructed authorities to keep adequate tarpaulins ready at procurement centres to prevent paddy stocks from getting wet due to heavy rains. Officials were also asked to shift tarpaulins from centres where procurement operations had already been completed.
