Hyderabad, Feb. 28 -- Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday distributed compensation cheques to the families of 44 Hyderabad residents, who were killed in a tragic bus accident near Madina in Saudi Arabia on November 17, 2025.

Each of the 44 bereaved families received Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia, while one person injured in the accident was given Rs 3 lakh as financial assistance.

The victims were reportedly charred to death in the horrific mishap near Madina.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said he immediately spoke to the Centre regarding rescue and relief measures after learning about the accident and deputed Minority Welfare Minister Azharuddin to Madina to coordinate assistance.
