Vikarabad (Telangana), Oct. 3 -- At least three women passengers were killed and seven others seriously injured when a private travel bus overturned on the Ananthagiri Ghat Road in Vikarabad district on Saturday.
The incident occurred when the bus, carrying around 54 villagers from Kesaram village in Patancheru of Sangareddy district, was travelling to Chintakunta village in Dharur mandal of Vikarabad district to attend a funeral, police said.
Seven passengers who sustained serious injuries were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the three women were shifted for post-mortem examination.
Police have launched an inquiry into the accident.
