Hyderabad, June 22 -- The District Transport Officer (DTO) of Bhupalapally, Venkanna (47) , was killed when an out-of-control coal-loaded tipper rammed into him while he was engaged in vehicle inspections, near the RTO office at Chelpur in Bhupalapally district on Monday.
Police said the tipper first hit a seized harvester being shifted to a secure location and then struck Venkanna, who died on the spot. The driver was taken into custody and a case was registered.
Expressing shock over the incident, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy assured support to the bereaved family and ordered a comprehensive inquiry.
