Hyderabad, June 7 -- Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao today directed district collectors to remain on high alert and take all necessary measures to protect harvested paddy in view of forecasts predicting rainfall in several parts of the State.

During a video conference with district collectors to review paddy procurement operations, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to expedite procurement wherever stocks are pending and ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience.

He asked collectors to closely monitor procurement centres and take precautionary measures to safeguard paddy stocks from adverse weather conditions.
