Hyderabad, May 22 -- State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Thursday reported encouraging results from the State's first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), established at its Mandamarri solar plant under the directions of the Telangana Government, with savings of nearly Rs.26 lakh achieved within four months.
The 1 MW Battery Energy Storage System was set up as an auxiliary facility to the 28 MW solar power plant in the Mandamarri area at a cost of Rs.2.5 crore, the mining company said in a release here.
