Patna, May 18 -- Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejaswi Yadav on Monday accused the state government of failing to control crime, alleging that the law and order situation in Bihar has significantly deteriorated.
Yadav said here that according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau, Bihar ranks among the top states in terms of crime. He alleged that incidents of rape, murder, robbery and theft have seen a sharp rise over the past month, while the government is unwilling to take responsibility.
He further claimed that criminals operating under political protection have become emboldened, with businessmen, students, teachers, women and ordinary citizens increasingly being targeted in broad daylight.
