Tehran/Washington, June 26 -- Iran's foreign ministry mocked US President Donald Trump over his claim that "food is desperately needed in Iran," citing statistics of food scarcity in Washington.
"Charity begins at home - and it is desperately needed there," wrote Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei in a post on X, and proceeded to list multiple statistics about the rising number of impoverished Americans in the US who are unable to afford food due to massive inflation.
