Sitapur, April 19 -- A 14-year-old girl was found dead inside a house in the Behta Chhawani ward of Mahmoodabad Kotwali area, raising serious concerns of foul play.
The victim, identified as Waseem Bano, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan with a scarf. The main door of the house was found broken, and approximately Rs 5 lakh in cash is reported missing, police said on Sunday.
Waseem Bano, a resident of Bhamera village under Kamalapur police station limits, had recently come to stay at her uncle's house in Mahmoodabad. At the time of the incident, she was alone at home, as other family members had gone to Lucknow to visit a relative.
