Gangtok, Oct. 22 -- A 10-member Sikkim contingent, comprising seven athletes and three officials, left for Chennai to participate in the 41st National Junior Athletics Championships scheduled to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from October 23 to 27.
Fielded by the Sikkim Athletic Association (SAA), the team comprises three boys and four girls competing in the Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 categories.
The contingent is led by team manager Hishey Tenzing Bhutia, accompanied by coach R.B. Subba and physiotherapist Dr Avika T. Kaleon. The team left Bagdogra on Wednesday evening and reached Chennai the same night. Document verification is scheduled for Thursday ahead of the competition.
