Jamshedpur, July 20 -- Tata Steel has proposed investments of about Rs 11,100 crore in Jharkhand by 2028 across sustainability, expansion and new manufacturing projects, with the initiatives expected to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The investment plan is part of the company's green steel and capacity expansion roadmap announced earlier this year.

According to the project details, the largest investment of Rs 7,000 crore has been earmarked for deployment of Hisarna and EASyMelt technologies, aimed at advancing low-carbon steelmaking. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028 and is expected to generate around 600 jobs.
