Kolkata, July 31 -- Bangladeshi-born author Taslima Nasrin landed in Kolkata on Friday after nearly 19 years to attend an anti-fundamentalism programme, marking her first visit to the city since she was forced to leave amid violent protests in 2007.
Nasrin will attend a programme organised by the Secular Mission Trust at Rabindra Sadan on Saturday (August 1) evening.
The event will bring together poets, writers and intellectuals to discuss secularism, freedom of expression and opposition to religious fundamentalism.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is likely to be present at the event.
