Washington/Tehran, June 25 -- Tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has surged following last week's agreement between the US and Iran to reopen the strategic waterway, although uncertainty continues to remain regarding how shipping will operate once the ongoing negotiations conclude.
According to maritime intelligence specialists, vessel movements in both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman have increased significantly since the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran came into effect.
As per Richard Mead, editor-in-chief of Lloyd's List, said there had been a noticeable recovery in activity.
