Chennai, Sept. 11 -- Padma Shri Solomon Pappiah, Tamil scholar, former professor, orator, writer and celebrated Pattimandram (talk show) moderator, who was widely acclaimed for his witty humour leaving the audience in splits during the shows, died on Friday at the age of 90, due to age-related ailments in his native district of Madurai on Friday afternoon.
He has been undergoing treatment at a hospital where he breathed his last around 1.30 pm today. His body was taken to his residence to enable the people to pay their last respects. As the newsspread, a large number of people have started gathering in front of his house to pay their homage.
