Hyderabad, Aug. 10 -- The Telangana Police today said a total of 265 underground CPI (Maoist) cadres had surrendered in the state during 2026 so far, describing the development as a significant setback to Left Wing Extremism (LWE).
The surrenders included three Central Committee Members (CCMs), 12 State Committee Members (SCMs), one Regional Committee Member (RCM), 24 Divisional Committee Secretaries/Members, 94 Area Committee Secretaries/Members and 131 Party Members, a police release said here..
The police also said 238 firearms had been recovered in Telangana during 2026, indicating a significant depletion of the Maoist group's armed strength.
