New Delhi, June 23 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah offered tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his Balidan Diwas, stating that he was a staunch upholder of the nation's unity and integrity and founder of the Jana Sangh, and with the abrogation of Article 370, what he wanted turned into reality.
Speaking at NAFED's auction portal launch here, Shah said that Article 370 has been abolished, and the party founded by Mookerjee, the Jana Sangh, now known as the BJP governs from Gangotri to Gangasagar.
Shah said that Dr Mookerjee, was a pioneer of cultural nationalism, and not only vocally opposed "two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags" in Kashmir, but also fought to ensure that Bengal remained an integral part of India.
