Bengaluru, July 4 -- Swift response by metro staff averted a major tragedy at the Rajajinagar Metro Station on the Green Line of Namma Metro on Saturday afternoon after a young woman jumped onto the tracks, forcing an emergency halt of services.

The incident occurred around 12:25 pm at Rajajinagar Metro Station, triggering panic among commuters and an immediate operational shutdown on the busy corridor.

Officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited said station control room staff and security personnel reacted within seconds, activating emergency protocols and entering the track area to rescue the woman. She was safely pulled out without any reported injuries, preventing what could have been a fatal incident.
