Kolkata, Nov. 3 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will hold an emergency review meeting with block development officers (BDOs) from across the state on Wednesday to assess the implementation of the 125-day rural employment scheme amid growing concerns over the slow pace of work.

The meeting will begin at 11.30 am at the headquarters of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department in Salt Lake.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dilip Ghosh and Minister of State Shantanu Pramanik will also attend the meeting.

The Chief Minister is expected to examine district-wise progress under the scheme and seek explanations directly from BDOs on blocks where implementation has been slow and targets have not been achieved.
