Imphal, April 30 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a suspected Kuki militant for his alleged involvement in the killing of Moreh SDPO Chingtham Anandakumar Singh on October 31, 2023.
Police sources confirmed that the accused, identified as Otkhothang Baite was arrested for masterminding the killing of the Police officer. The Kuki militants using sophisticated sniper shot killed the Police officer while he was inspecting a helipad.
The matter was handed over to the NIA for investigation for probe. According to sources the planning and execution of the attack on the police officer was precise and deliberate, indicating that he had been specifically targeted rather than caught in the crossfire.
