London, March 26 -- Surrey have signed India leg spinner Rahul Chahar for the final eight games of the upcoming County Championship season.
The 26-year-old returns for a second spell at the county after making one appearance last year, when he took 10 wickets in his debut and only match. He claimed eight second-innings wickets against Hampshire last September with career-best numbers of 8-51.
Chahar, who has represented India seven times in white-ball cricket, played for the Mumbai Indians side that won the Indian Premier League in 2019 and 2020, according to BBC sport.
He will play for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL this season before re-joining Surrey, starting with their game against Hampshire at the Kia Oval on June 7.
