Bengaluru, June 8 -- Congress general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala on Monday accused the BJP of humiliating former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda by allegedly denying him a Rajya Sabha nomination and choosing state BJP vice-president M Nagaraja instead, while also targeting the Janata Dal (Secular) leadership for continuing its alliance with the saffron party.
In a strongly-worded post on X, Surjewala said the BJP's reported decision to nominate Nagaraja over Deve Gowda amounted to a slight against the veteran leader and reflected what he described as the repeated humiliation of the JD(S) by its alliance partner.
