New Delhi, May 19 -- The court declined to alter its November last year order directing all States and union Territories to remove stray dogs from crowded public institutions, including schools, hospitals, sports complexes, bus depots, and railway stations, clarifying that the animals must not be returned to these locations even after sterilisation.
The bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NV Anjaria dismissed a bunch of applications seeking modifications to the directions issued by the Court on November 7, 2025.
The court said the stray dogs picked up by authorities from the premises of public places must be confined to shelters.
