Mumbai, July 30 -- The Supreme Court has dismissed the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Amol Khatal, paving the way for a regular hearing on the election petition filed by Congress leader and former Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat in the Bombay High Court, according to party sources.

The election petition filed by senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat had stated that Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Amol Khatal deliberately concealed the affidavit submitted along with the nomination form for the Sangamner assembly election, regarding his arrears of government taxes and his partnership in the 'Neel Kamal' partnership.
