Pune, March 27 -- The increasing superstition and fraudulent spiritual practices in Maharashtra reflects a failure of governance and weakening administrative control, senior Congress state spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari alleged on Friday.

Addressing a press conference at the Pune Congress Bhavan, Tiwari said that despite Maharashtra being considered a progressive State, incidents of exploitation by self-styled godmen continue due to ineffective implementation of the anti-superstition law.
