Kolkata, Aug. 10 -- : Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's aide Sumit Roy has moved the Calcutta High Court challenging four FIRs registered against him in different parts of West Bengal, alleging that the cases are part of a "coordinated and politically motivated" criminal process.
Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya has allowed Roy to file a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution.
The matter is likely to come up for hearing on Tuesday.
In his petition, Roy has questioned the legality of the four FIRs as well as the notices issued to him under Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
