Shimla, April 14 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the 450 MW Shongtong-Karcham Hydroelectric Project on the Satluj River during his two-day visit to Kinnaur district, directing officials to expedite work and ensure its timely completion.
The Chief Minister inspected key components of the project, including the powerhouse, surge shaft and barrage, and interacted with engineers and workers at the site.
He instructed the department to complete the first phase by January 2027 and the entire project within the current financial year.
