Kolkata, June 15 -- In a significant development, senior parliamentarian Sudip Bandopadhyay is set to receive 'Y' category security cover after joining the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) along with 19 other rebel Members of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC.
Security arrangements for the other rebel MPs are also expected to be strengthened following their induction into the party.
In addition, central security forces have reportedly been deployed at the NCPI's office in Howrah amid heightened political activity surrounding the development.
