Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- Internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik on Friday created a special sand sculpture at Puri Beach in Odisha to express solidarity with the people of Nepal affected by the devastating floods.

The 20-foot-wide and five-foot-high sculpture carries a powerful message of compassion, hope and humanity amid the widespread devastation caused by the floods in Nepal, which have claimed several lives and caused extensive damage.

With the heartfelt message "Prayers for Nepal" prominently displayed on the sculpture, Pattnaik prayed for the safety and well-being of the people of Nepal and expressed his solidarity with the families affected by the tragedy.
