Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday described the Subhadra Yojana as a symbol of women's empowerment, saying the scheme was not merely about providing financial assistance but reflected the government's commitment to the welfare and self-reliance of women.

Speaking at a programme organised at Lathipada in Nayagarh district to mark the disbursement of the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, Majhi said the scheme had emerged as an important instrument for strengthening the economic security and independence of women in Odisha.
