Lucknow, Oct. 2 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said strong panchayats and prosperous villages are the foundation of Gram Swaraj, asserting that there is "no place for a dynastic model" in a system based on transparency, accountability and self-reliance.
On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Chief Minister said his government is working to make villages not the last stage of development but the "first unit" of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh and a new India.
