New Delhi, June 22 -- Indian Stock Markets on Monday staged a strong recovery with Nifty closing above the 24,100 mark. At close, the Sensex was up 291.17 points or 0.38 per cent at 77,094.07, and the Nifty was up 89.80 points or 0.37 per cent at 24,102.90.
Among the sectors, barring Nifty FMCG, which was down by 0.41 per cent, and Consumer Durables,, down by 0.55 per cent, all sectoral indices ended higher. Nifty Media, Pharma, and Healthcare indices rose by over 1 per cent each, while Oil and Gas and IT rose by up to 1per cent, and Nifty Bank and Financial Services rose by 0.43per cent and 0.58per cent, respectively.
