New Delhi, June 19 -- The Indian Stock Markets on Friday tumbled after five consecutive sessions of winning amid heavy selling in the information technology stocks.

At close, Sensex settled 607.08 points or 0.78 percent lower at 76,802.90, while the broader Nifty advanced to 24,013.10, down 154.90 points or 0.64 percent.

Among the sectors, Nifty IT emerged as the biggest loser falling over 3.6percent. Further, Nifty Auto, Nifty Bank, Nifty Oil and Gas were in the red while on the other hand, Nifty Media, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Chemicals traded in positive territory.
