New Delhi, July 30 -- The Indian Stock Markets on Thursday ended higher after a volatile trading session. Gains in the IT stocks were offset by weakness in realty, capital goods, healthcare and select heavyweight counters.
At close, the Sensex was up 273.55 points or 0.35 percent at 77,928.15, and the Nifty was up 66.95 points or 0.28 percent at 24,317.15 while the Nifty midcap index falling 0.4 percent and smallcap index declining 0.6 percent.
Brent crude traded above $91 per barrel while the Indian rupee climbed 9 paise to settle at 95.67 per dollar, according to provisional figures.
MCX Gold traded near Rs 1,42,500, gaining around Rs 700, primarily tracking the overnight recovery in international gold prices.
