New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- The Indian Stock Markets on Tuesday ended with losses amid elevated crude oil prices and geopolitical uncertainties. Sharp selling pressure was also seen in financial stocks.

Markets remained under pressure through most of the session after a muted start.

At close, the Sensex was down 388.19 points or 0.49 percent at 78,154.25, and the Nifty was down 112.10 points or 0.46 percent at 24,471.70.

Nifty Midcap index ending flat, while the Nifty Smallcap index rose 0.2%. Among the sectors, Nifty FMCG dropped 1.17%, while the Realty and Metal indices declined almost 1% each.

Further, the Bank Nifty and Financial Services indices dropped 0.42% and 0.43%, respectively.
