New Delhi, June 23 -- Indian Stock Markets on Tuesday ended sharply lower with Nifty closing below 23,850. Markets took cues from weak global markets and uncertainty surrounding US-Iran peace talks.
Markets had a volatile session in the first half and slipped in the second half. At close, the Sensex was down 893.39 points or 1.16 percent at 76,200.68, and the Nifty was down 278.80 points or 1.16 per cent at 23,824.10.
The overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms to Rs 475 lakh crore from Rs 480.6 lakh crore in the previous session, making investors poorer by nearly Rs 6 lakh crore in a single day.
