New Delhi, June 2 -- The Indian Stock Markets on Tuesday pared early losses and staged a sharp recovery. The markets were in green due to various reasons, including value buying and easing crude prices.
At close, Sensex was 382.50 points or 0.52 per cent higher at 74,649.84, while Nifty ended 100.95 points or 0.43 per cent higher at 23,483.55. About 2,222 shares advanced, 1,803 shares declined, and 165 shares were unchanged.
Benchmark Sensex surged 800 points from the day's low, and Nifty reclaimed the 23,450-mark.
The volatility index, India VIX, eased 7 per cent to 15.36, which indicates buyers are finding comfort to buy at these levels.
Brent crude prices fell marginally by 1.6 per cent to trade at USD 93.47.
