New Delhi, May 26 -- The Indian Stock Market on Tuesday ended in red with Nifty below the 23,900-mark while Sensex fell nearly 500 points.
At close, Sensex was down by 479.26 points or 0.63% lower to close at 76,009.70 while Nifty ended 118 points or 0.49% lower at 23,913.70. About 2,057 shares advanced, 1,973 shares declined, and 165 shares were unchanged.
The Indian rupee dropped 47 paise to close at 95.73 per dollar.
Taking cues from the board meeting of Tata Sons, the related stocks gained. In the early trade, Tejas Networks, Tata Investment Corporation Ltd rose up to 7%.
