Hyderabad, March 13 -- A State Level Standing Committee has recommended the premature release of 102 life convict prisoners lodged in various prisons across Telangana after examining their eligibility under government guidelines.
The committee, comprising C. V. Anand, Special Chief Secretary (Home), B. Papi Reddy, Secretary for Legal Affairs, Legislative Affairs and Justice, and Soumya Mishra, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, reviewed proposals submitted for premature release of prisoners by the prisons department, an official statement said here on Friday.
