Chennai, March 13 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nod for the Hogenekkal Phase-II Combine Water Supply Scheme (CWSS) drinking water project 10 new Multi Village Schemes at a total cost of Rs 7,590 crore to ensure sustainable and equitable drinking water supply for the rural population and release due share of funds to the tune of Rs 3,112 crore for the project.
In a Demi-Official letter to Mr Modi, he cited the recent decision of the union Government to extend the Jal Jeevan Mission, and requested that concurrence and financial support be provided for the Hogenekkal Phase-III CWSS, enabling the State to proceed with the JICA loan agreement.
