Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh), July 16 -- The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) on Thursday commenced the construction of a new women's hostel at its Anantapur campus, marking a major expansion of residential infrastructure for women students.

The foundation stone was laid by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust Managing Trustee R.J. Rathnakar and SSSIHL Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Raghavendra Prasad in the presence of the family members of late Dr. Kishan Gadhia, including Danesh Gadhia and Sanjay Gadhia, besides faculty members, students and other dignitaries.

The proposed hostel, with a built-up area of over 1.5 lakh square feet, will be developed in phases and is designed to accommodate nearly 1,500 students.
