Chennai, July 30 -- Southern Railway on Thursday denied media reports that suburban EMU trains were stranded one behind the other (reports said major mishap averted) causing inconvenice to commuters and termed it as a minor technical issue.
In a clarification statement, Southern Railway said the EMU from Tambaram to Chennai Beach was detained at Chennai Park railway station at around 1730 hrs due to a minor technical issue.
To regulate suburban train operations, the following it was turned back from Chennai Egmore towards Tambaram. The minor technical issue was rectified promptly, and it resumed its journey from Chennai Park at 18:05 hrs.
