Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 24 -- India enjoyed a strong outing in squash at the Asian Games here on Thursday as Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani advanced to the men's singles quarter-finals, while Anahat Singh and Tanvi Khanna also booked their places in the women's last eight.
Second seed Abhay Singh produced another dominant performance, defeating Sri Lanka's Ravindu Laksiri 3-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-6) in just 21 minutes. The Indian, ranked 26th in the world, will face Japan's top player Ryunosuke Tsukue in the quarter-finals.
Fourth seed Veer Chotrani, ranked 38th in the world, endured a much tougher battle against Malaysia's world No. 59 Sanjay Jeeva before prevailing 3-2 (11-9, 8-11, 11-6, 15-17, 11-6).
