New Delhi, Aug. 12 -- The Sports Ministry on Wednesday suspended the recognition of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), citing governance-related shortcomings and its failureto hold elections within the stipulated timeframe.
The ministry has also directed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to set up an ad-hoc committee to oversee the administration of table tennis in the country.
The decision followed what the ministry described as an "unsatisfactory response" from theTTFI to a show cause notice issued earlier.
