Patna, Feb. 25 -- Bihar government has undertaken major technical and ground-level initiatives to ensure safety on rural roads across the state.
Official sources said here on Wednesday that in rural areas, the focus is no longer limited to expanding paved roads, but also to ensure that travel on village roads becomes safer than before. To reduce loss of life and property caused by road accidents, the Rural Works Department has undertaken these initiatives.
The sources said that strictly adhering to the guidelines of the Supreme Court and the Transport Department, it has been made mandatory to implement road safety standards on all constructed and under-construction rural roads and bridges.
