Bhubaneswar, May 14 -- The third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will commence in Odisha from July 1 as part of a nationwide voter list verification drive initiated by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The ECI has directed the launch of the third phase of the SIR programme in 16 states and three union Territories, including Odisha, with the schedule aligned to the ongoing house-listing process for the Census.

According to the Commission, the electoral roll revision will be carried out in phases across the country, excluding Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. Separate schedules for these regions will be announced later after the completion of the second phase of the Census, considering adv...
