Lucknow, April 18 -- With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on the horizon, the Samajwadi Party is kicking off a large-scale voter enrolment drive, personally overseen by party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

The campaign aims to ensure no supporter is left off the rolls, with party workers going door-to-door to register new voters and correct existing records in a state with over 134 million names on the electoral list.

This exercise, initiated after the SIR, is considered crucial from an electoral perspective. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will personally monitor the process from time to time.
